Sushipedia 1.2 Now Live in App Store!
Author: Admin | Filed Under: Sushipedia
We are proud to announce that we have officially received the “green light” over at Apple, as the submission candidate for Sushipedia Version 1.2 (Standard Edition) was approved. Rather than waiting for Sushipedia Pro to achieve approval, we have decided to push the application live immediately for those in our user base who have been eagerly patient these past couple months.
You can download Sushipedia 1.2 from the iTunes App Store and for those whom are interested in being the first kids on the block with the Sushipedia Pro 1.2 once it becomes available, we have launched a simple Pro Version Upgrade Notification page at over at the Sushipedia website (it’s terribly ugly, but for the time being it serves a purpose).
In the meantime, we would really like to start hearing all of your comments and feedback. We have entered development on the massive Sushipedia 2.0 version, but we haven’t closed up our feature list just yet. Tell us what you think, what you like, what you hate… We’re open to all forms of input and would like to hear from you. just drop us a message (or leave a comment on the post).

Tokiolabs Calls in the Experts at Big Nerd Ranch

Our sincere thanks to Aaron Hillegass and his team of experts over at Big Nerd Ranch who traveled on-site to Tokiolabs & 2Advanced Studios to present their hardcore 7-day hands-on iPhone development boot camp training. Yes, we gave up a weekend; put in crazy long hours; consumed mass quantities of caffeine and went home each night with glazed looks on our faces – But, we survived… and we are better programmers for it!
If there is any single recommendation we can make to ‘up-and-coming’ iPhone / Cocoa / Objective-C developers, it would be to take the plunge into one of the Big Nerd Ranch courses. They are amazingly well structured, thorough, and will save you hundreds of infuriating hours of masochistic trial and error if you are thinking about doing the self-study method.
In any event… We are all feeling pretty omnipotent (at least where iPhone Development is concerned) thanks to the guys at Big Nerd Ranch.
Sushipedia Gone to Submission

“How much human life is lost in waiting?” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The good news is that we have officially gone to submission with Sushipedia 1.2; The bad news is that we have to sit back and wait patiently. For those unfamiliar with Apple’s current iPhone Application submission and approval process – it is basically a mind-numbing nightmare far worse than any visit to your local Department of Motor Vehicles.
Sushipedia has entered the nebulous void we call the ’submission process’ and now with time, periodic prayer (to anyone listening), and a little luck, we should be out and on the iTunes App Store in very short order! Unless of course, we screwed something up, in which case the whole process starts over fresh – But, let’s not dwell on that for now.
Sushipedia 1.2 Ready for Beta
Author: Admin | Filed Under: Sushipedia
We’ve made a ton of enhancements in a relatively short period of time and are now ready to start pounding away in testing. Unfortunately, our timing couldn’t have been worse as all iPhone applications are now required to be tested for compatibility under iPhone OS 3.0.
So, if you are biting your teeth to hear what’s new in Sushipedia 1.2, we’ve included a little preview of what’s on the version 1.2 menu (sorry, bad pun):
- This item
- That item
- Another item…
With that, we are confident that the features in Sushipedia will be well worth the wait. Let us know if we missed anything!
Sushipedia 1.2 Development Underway
Author: Admin | Filed Under: Sushipedia
Our deepest thanks to all of the loyal Sushipedia users and Sushi Fans who have been submitting their feedback and suggestions for the next release of Sushipedia! We have compiled a rather exhaustive list of stuff; many of which will be tackled in Version 1.2 and others have been slated for the next major version upgrade.
All in all, it seems that more sushi entries has been top on everyone’s list, so we have been scurrying about to write more content and expand the total number of entries significantly. Even the old Sushi items are getting an overhaul, and have been rewritten and updated for accuracy.
For those curious, Sushipedia 1.2 (standard edition) will be joining the ranks of ‘Free’ iPhone Apps, while Tokiolabs is hard at work on its massive successor. As such, we are likely to have Ad Support included in order to help with the crazy costs of iPhone Development, so please try to avoid flaming us over it.
